Check The Fit

Before you put on your favourite exercise outfit, make sure that you check the fit. Shorts that are too loose will ride up while you do certain exercises like squats or deadlifts. A pair of loose shorts with a lining may protect you from discomfort. Yoga clothes that are too tight will make it difficult to work out comfortably.

Choose Sweat Wicking Fabrics

Nothing beats 100% cotton when it comes to comfort and breathability. But cotton tends to absorb a lot of moisture. You will end up feeling like you are wearing a heavy wet towel. Moist clothes attract bacteria if worn for a long period which, in turn, could lead to fungal infections if your skin is exposed to those bacteria-filled wet clothes. Instead, go for sweat-wicking and moisture-friendly leg warmers, which can come in either blended or synthetic fabrics.

A Good Sports Bra

A sports bra is considered an important part of women activewear. It provides support and reduces the chance of injury while exercising. Just remember to choose one that fits more snugly than your regular bra but not too constricting that you have trouble breathing normally. If you choose one with snaps, hooks, or zippers, make sure there is no chafing on the skin. 

What about Shoes

The best footwear for you depends on the type of workouts you will be doing. If you are doing cardio, running shoes will do just fine. Flat shoes or those that have minimal arches are good for lifting weights. If you are unsure about the type of shoes that would be best for the regimen you follow, ask your instructor or coach.

It doesn’t matter what your style is, remember- when selecting your workout outfit, the focus should be on what will make you feel comfortable at the gym while providing you with the support you need.
